Notary Public

The types of documents often notarised for other countries include:

  • Powers of Attorney
  • Affidavits
  • Declarations
  • Certified copies of existing documents confirming their authenticity
  • Land/property documents including transfers and mortgage/security documentation
  • Bills of Exchange

A Notary will need to verify the identity of the person signing before being able to notarise the document concerned. The best form of identification is a passport.

A Notary has the responsibility of retaining details of all documents notarised in case, at a later stage, there are queries from officials of the country where the document is to be used as to the authenticity of the document and its execution.

Paul Maskell (a Partner of this Firm) was appointed a Notary Public in 1994. The appointment is for Paul's lifetime.
